2015 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster Details:
Aston Martin has just revealed what it calls its “most potent, fastest, and fastest-accelerating” open-top car ever: the 2015 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster. The British automaker claims the 565-hp convertible can sprint to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 201 mph.
Like the V12 Vantage S coupe and Vanquish, the V12 Vantage S roadster is powered by the automaker’s 5.9-liter V-12 engine. The engine is said to produce peak horsepower at 6750 rpm and as much as 376 lb-ft of torque at just 1000 rpm, while the peak 457 lb-ft happens at 5750 rpm. Aston Martin claims the engine provides a “flatter, yet fatter, torque curve.” The engine is backed by the automaker’s Sportshift III ASM (auto-shift manual) transmission that can be controlled via a set of paddle shifters.

The V12 Vantage S Roadster features three driver selectable modes, including Normal, Sport, and Track, for various conditions. Each mode alters throttle response, gearshift speed and timing, exhaust note. The roadster also features three-stage adaptive suspension damping, three-stage DSC, and two-stage ABS as well as the electric power steering. Stopping power comes by way of carbon ceramic discs that are inspired by those on the Vanquish, while the exhaust tuning is derived from that of the One-77 hypercar.
Exterior enhancements include carbon fiber grille vanes in place of aluminum with black or titanium silver mesh. The shape of the grille is inspired by the CC100 Speedster concept and the Vantage race cars, according to Aston Martin. Available options include a graphics package (painted carbon fiber front grille, front grille lipstick and tailgate panel), an exterior carbon package, and flared wheel arches. A set of lightweight 10-spoke alloy wheels are also available.
Inside, the V12 Vantage S Roadster features unique seat and door trim, while Sport and lightweight carbon fiber seat options in a choice of color combinations. An available Carbon Fiber Package includes dashboard trim and door pulls. Black pedals are also available.
Buyers can also select bespoke styling from Q by Aston Martin, the automaker’s in-house customization division. Options include body-colored carbon fiber hood louvers, red or satin tint carbon fiber interior and exterior trim, a full carbon fiber center console, black anodized dials, and contrasting leather on the steering wheel.
